The ABA at Shady Grove completed a very successful event on Friday, August 22, 2014.
40 incoming accounting juniors joined Dr. Gary Bulmash and the Accounting and Business Association (ABA) at Shady Grove for a few hours as the executive board facilitated sessions to give new juniors a better understanding of the jobs landscape and prepare them for the Fall recruiting season.
This inaugural event was designed by the ABA at Shady Grove who felt it was best to host a career strategies event for new Smith students BEFORE the first day of classes. The sessions included HireSmith training, social media and professional etiquette, and an overview of the accounting industry and recruiting cycle.
Thank you to all of you who came to the Boot Camp. We hope we provided you with useful information, and we hope you make good use of it as you pursue your career in public accounting! We also want to thank the ABA's new faculty advisor, Dr. Gary Bulmash, for being so accessible and willing to work both with us and with you.
